Associate & Senior Attorney – Real Estate Litigation (Newport Beach, California)

Location: Newport Beach, California

We are seeking talented Associate and Senior Attorneys to join our Newport Beach, California office and contribute to our firm’s mission of helping clients navigate their most challenging real estate disputes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings, including mediations, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Draft and argue motions, pleadings, discovery responses, and appellate briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex real estate and foreclosure issues.
  • Manage cases from inception through resolution, maintaining deadlines and compliance with court rules.
  • Counsel and communicate effectively with clients regarding case strategy, risk, and outcomes.
  • Senior Attorney oversees and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals as needed.

Qualifications

  • Active California State Bar license in good standing.
  • Associate: Minimum 5 years of litigation experience.
  • Senior Counsel: 10+ years of litigation experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of real estate law experience required.
  • Real estate transaction experience is a plus.
  • Strong experience in drafting motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, writs, and appeals.
  • Proven success in depositions, mediations, and courtroom advocacy.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage a full litigation caseload independently.
  • Law Review, clerkship, or appellate experience preferred but not required.

What Estavillo Law Group Offers

    • Associate Attorney: $150,000 – $180,000
    • Senior Attorney: $180,00 – $240,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including trial, mediation, arbitration, and depositions.
  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other court documents.
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other databases to support case preparation.
  • Organize, maintain, and manage case files and discovery materials.
  • Prepare and summarize discovery responses, witness files, and exhibits for trial.
  • Communicate directly with clients to provide case updates and gather necessary information.
  • Coordinate with opposing counsel, courts, and third parties to ensure timely case management.
  • Proofread and format legal documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with court rules.
  • Track and maintain billable hours.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal Certificate required
  • Minimum of 6 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
  • Real Estate Law experience preferred; real estate transaction experience is a plus.
  • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, initiative, and time management.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.

Legal Secretary

Estavillo Law Group is a rapidly growing Real Estate Litigation law firm with offices in Oakland, California and Newport Beach, California.

As our next Legal Secretary, you will have the opportunity to work with an experienced legal team covering all areas of Real Estate and Foreclosure Litigation. Our cases range from fighting to save our client’s home from the bank foreclosing on it, to negotiating neighbor disputes, to fighting in court to protect our client’s real property, and everything in between.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Firm’s master calendar in Outlook and Clio
  • Schedule all deadlines, meetings, and court appearances
  • Coordinate with the legal team to ensure deadlines are met
  • File documents in state and federal court
  • Prepare and send legal correspondence
  • Build relationships with clients by phone, email, and in-person
  • Retrieve, scan, and distribute incoming mail
  • Help the reception team as needed
  • Greet and assist office visitors
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all Newport Beach office needs
