Job Description

As the HR Manager, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in contributing to the growth and success of our Law Firm by working directly with the Firm management team to help recruit, hire and develop a talented team to ensure clients receive exceptional service.

You will provide proactive leadership in assessing and addressing current and anticipated HR needs by developing, recommending, and deploying effective solutions in concert with overall firm objectives. You will participate in strategic planning for the changing needs of the firm.

The successful candidate will be one who has experience working in a fast-paced environment (preferably having work in a services business) and is able to complete assignments under time sensitive deadlines with a “can do” positive attitude. The successful candidate is results oriented with a motivation to succeed, is highly organized, and has the ability to manage daily tasks along with long term projects.

  • Develop, document and deploy firm-wide policies and procedures
  • Recruit, hire, and train employees
  • Administer and communicate compensation and health benefits to employees
  • Oversee PTO planning and manage time-off requests for staff
  • Process payroll
  • Training, counseling and coaching staff
  • Conducting performance and salary reviews


  • Implement, update and oversee enforcement of the firm's personnel rules and all firm policies and procedures.
  • Encourage and enable workplace productivity, efficiency, motivation, and overall effectiveness.
  • Prepare and administer ongoing performance evaluations.
  • Conduct weekly Policy and Procedure meetings including preparation of policies/procedures based on firm needs.
  • Promote high team morale.
  • Recruit, hire, orient, train and develop staff.
  • Handle salary administration, administer employee benefits, and oversee performance reviews and associated activities.
  • Prepare and monitor attendance records for employees.
  • Schedule and prepare support staff vacation requests and assign coverage for assignments during scheduled and unscheduled absences.
  • Maintain well organized HR records.
  • Identify and report obstacles to Firm Owner.
  • Coordinate and handle arrangements for firm recruiting events within budget guidelines.
  • Assist the Marketing Department with development of recruiting and onboarding plans and materials

Candidates must have:

  • Proficiency in most Microsoft such Outlook and Word and specific emphasis on Excel
  • Strong working knowledge of HR procedures, polices and state/federal laws
  • Project Management experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the Firm, both verbal and written
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Advanced prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and under strict deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of HR or similar experience
  • Supervisory/management experience in a small fast-growing services business, preferably in a service related industry.

The Estavillo Law Group is a small, family-oriented Bay Area Real Estate Litigation Firm committed to advocating on behalf of our clients in order to achieve positive results.  We offer a friendly and professional environment and believe that our internal infrastructure is the key to our ultimate success.  Though we continue to work remotely, we have processes and platforms in place which keep the team in constant communication and collaboration.

We are currently looking for a Contract Attorney to support our ever-growing Real Estate Litigation Practice.  The expectation is that this candidate will provide 20-40 hours per week of client-related billable hours.


  • Review files and provide analysis of legal issues and strategies
  • Draft Correspondence, Complaints, Motions, and Discovery
  • Prepares for, attend and reports on court/trial proceedings
  • Submit daily timesheets
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned

Candidates must have:

  • California Bar required
  • Must be able to work virtually/remotely
  • 5 years of previous experience in real estate litigation
  • Ability to work independently, with little supervision, and in tandem
  • Strong research and analytical skills

This is a mid-level, full-time position. Candidates must have:

  • Three-five years of current legal, secretarial experience
  • Some litigation experience
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with MS Word and Outlook
  • Exceptional writing, proofreading, technology, and administrative skills are required
  • A four-year degree is preferred

Understanding or prior experience with real property law a plus but not required.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Exceptional writing, organizational, communication, and administrative skills
  • Previous case management experience is required (or experience in related jobs such as paralegal, legal secretary, or legal assistant)

  • A four-year degree is preferred
