Hadi Gerami - Of Counsel
Hadi Gerami attended Southwestern University School of Law in his native Los Angeles immediately after graduating summa cum laude from the University of Arizona. In his first year at Southwestern, Hadi was a finalist writer in the law school’s prestigious Intramural Moot Court Competition and was subsequently selected for the Moot Court Honors Program, where he served as a writer on the team competing in the Nationals Moot Court competition. After graduating from Southwestern and becoming a member of the California Bar in 2002, Hadi’s legal career began as an insurance defense associate defending Farmers Insurance Company clients in cases involving personal injury from premises liability and automobile accidents.
Hadi transitioned to providing contract attorney services on behalf of some of the most prominent international law firms, and his duties took him across the country working for notable firms such as Crowell & Moring’s Washington D.C office, Skadden’s Los Angeles office, Reed Smith’s San Francisco and Los Angeles offices, and Bingham McCutchen’s Palo Alto office. Hadi worked extensively on large-scale corporate litigation matters oftentimes involving class-action lawsuits, government investigations by the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission, and second-request reviews of mergers and acquisitions.
The subprime mortgage crisis of 2008 provided the opportunity for Hadi to become well-versed in real estate law and the legal fallout from the rampant foreclosures that resulted after the economic collapse. Hadi worked extensively to hold the major mortgage insurance companies responsible as he tirelessly appealed individual mortgage insurance claims that had been wrongfully denied after the underlying loans had defaulted, resulting in an unprecedented number of foreclosures across the country. Hadi’s passion for consumer advocacy continues to this present day and includes three recent years working on behalf of California’s preeminent lemon law litigation firm.
In addition to nearly two decades of experience practicing law, Hadi is an avid world traveler and an outdoor enthusiast. His interests include a variety of athletic activities ranging from road cycling to alpine skiing. Hadi’s passion for the legal profession is rivaled only by his adoration for his young son, who brings a similar attitude and positive mindset to his kindergarten studies.
